Russian forces began sweeping in to fill a security void left by withdrawing American troops in northern Syria on Tuesday.

Video posted on social media by Russian journalists traveling with the mercenaries and Syrian government forces showed abandoned American military tents under camouflage netting, as well as other remnants hastily left behind in recent days by U.S. troops

Fire Destroys 2 Storage Tanks at Oil Facility in Crockett

The blaze burned the two tanks to the ground and damaged two others at the NuStar Energy facility in Crockett, according to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District, which got the first call at about 1:50 p.m.

Fire officials confirmed reports there were multiple explosions before the fire. The cause of the blaze was not immediately known.
