High Springs woman accused of poisoning family dog; planned to poison family

According to the arrest report, Autumn Chestnut, 22, told police she fed handfuls of salt to her family’s dog attempting to kill it. When the dog did not die, Chestnut reportedly fed the dog more salt until it experienced organ failure and had to be put down. She also told police she attempted to crush the dog’s ribs with her hands.

When police asked if Chestnut had thoughts about killing her family, she said she wanted her cousin to die and told police about an attempt to kill her cousin but stopped.
