BURN the CATECHISM ! This is the best advice for anyone steeped in Roman Catholicism.
We worked with an old school-mate for months who was steeped in the RC Catechism. It BLOCKED the TRUTH of the Scriptures for her.
She read every verse "through the eyes" of the RC Catechism. She knew it by heart and even down to its numerical system. But she didn't know the Scriptures, just the catechism.
She was immovable, but not on The ROCK+. We could only pray that her fidelity and love would TURN away from the organization unto CHRIST JESUS the LORD.
And that is what this church --- and others --- do: The true worship and adoration and loyalty which is SUPPOSED to go to CHRIST JESUS alone is siphoned off unto the RC establishment.
Her church also warned her against reading Chick Tracts ! She was tense when she saw them in our letters. We did not attack "her" church, but tried to lead her to CHRIST.
The LORD JESUS, to this well-taught, 100% faithful, cradle-Catholic, was interesting but merely on the side-lines of her faith.
With all this SIN coming out regarding the RC church organization, perhaps The LORD will use it to make His+ true followers FLEE away from it.
We need to pray for those who have been institutionalized by the RC camp, even though , like our friend, has a family and has never been in a convent, etc.

I am a walking miracle in many respects. My mother was from a small village in Quebec where the local priest was god, period. Complete control.
She had a brother who became a Catholic missionary/ priest to the Ivory Coast, and a sister who became a nun. I often wonder before God at His majesty how she ended up in Miami for the funeral of an uncle and met and married my dad (with half a dozen children, who had lost his wife in childbirth in Detroit) when she was a 36 year old school teacher from St. Lazare,Quebec.

I hope so too as you stated, but I believe when Catholics are given information about these pediphile priests, it only qualifies them in their sin. There’s hardly ever any repentance, no seeking out the ways of Jesus Christ, no being Born Again of the Holy Spirit; instead they almost feel sorry for these hell hounds while continuing in their Catholic ways — they get away with murder themselves.
