[and they will be] unloving [devoid of natural human affection, calloused and inhumane], irreconcilable, malicious gossips, devoid of self-control [intemperate, immoral], brutal,
haters of good,
traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of [sensual] pleasure rather than lovers of God,
holding to a form of [outward] godliness (religion), although they have denied its power [for their conduct nullifies their claim of faith].
Avoid such people and keep far away from them.

Look at the condition of the "merry" church as they gather around their latest idol golden boy and revel in their idols of mammon and give lip service to Jesus. This is the American Laodecian church Jesus said He would spew out of His mouth. As with the 5 foolish virgins it will be too late when they finally come knocking in all seriousness.
They chose to listen to the false prophets and teachers and rejected Gods warnings from His watchmen Ezekiel 33.
