It was President Reagan who helped Palestinian Islamic terrorist Yasser Arafat get safe passage to Tunisia from Beirut when the IDF had a bullet with his name on it in 1982 during Israel's 1st Lebanon War.
It was the US who came to the rescue of Hezbollah during the 2nd Lebanon war in 2006 telling Israel to retreat.
The same US restrained Israel from defeating Hamas every time the IDF went into Gaza to end the rockets.
So Israel knowing all of this is sinfully stupid in continuing down this path that leads to major disaster.
