You can't buy this oil, so why do the wise virgins tell the foolish virgins to "go shopping" for what they will not find ?
From the ends of the earth we hear songs, “Glory to the Righteous One,”
But I say, “Woe to me! Woe to me! Alas for me!
The treacherous deal treacherously,
And the treacherous deal very treacherously.”
Isaiah 24:16
Harvest Time, judgment, separation, burning fire for the wicked, and needed refining for the righteous |
Parable of Ten Virgins
“Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins, who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom.
2 Five of them were foolish [thoughtless, silly, and careless], and five were wise [far-sighted, practical, and sensible].
3 For when the foolish took their lamps, they did not take any [extra] oil with them,
The foolish are the worldly Christians who spend more time with the things of this world than they do with Jesus or His word.
They are buyers, shoppers, $, really involved in the commerce and economy of this wicked world that Jesus clearly told us not to love, the merchant$ in the House of God have piled up lots of loot with all the no oil stuff they peddle to these naive sheep who only want their ears tickled, and play church.
The foolish virgins believe they can have the best of both worlds, serve two masters, and carelessly overlook the warnings of Jesus. They are money oriented have enough of it to get what they need and this is the measure of their lives.
Why go to Jesus when you can buy it with your own mammon god $ that you serve and worship above Jesus ?
That is why the wise virgins (Jesus) told them to 'go and buy'.
Notice in verse 8 the foolish want the oil for nothing, free (GIVE) that only Jesus gives to those who have learned to walk in close relationship with Him given to them.
The carnal, worldly Christian who love merchants and merchandise, this world, more than Jesus did not seek the true spiritual treasures because their eyes and hearts were unclean, not having been purified from this evil world by the Holy Spirit, Jesus, who they never really surrendered fully to. There are no dual citizens in the Kingdom of God.
These are the foolish ones who have compromised with the world and bought into the lie that God will rescue their vain carnal souls before midnight, the tribulation, very hard refining times.
4 but the wise took flasks of oil along with their lamps.
you can't buy this oil
Notice that the foolish virgins did not believe or think that they needed flasks of oil because they were deceived, and stupidly assumed (to their doom) that they would not be around for the purifying fires of tribulation (not God's wrath, but mans wrath)
They have $ and that's the only oil they have been interested in all their lives.
When it comes (too late) to realizing they need what Jesus has been freely giving to His small flock, they FINALLY want some, again, TOO LATE, the door is shut as they come to Him, the door "later" verse 11.
The wise truly love and follow Jesus, hear His voice, and do not live by $ bread alone like the double minded foolish virgins who believe they can have the best of both worlds, serve two masters and carelessly overlook the warnings of Jesus .
They have learned not to love this world or the things in it.
They do not follow the false shepherds, the hired preachers and teachers who tickle their ears and tell them they are OK and that it's fine to live like the world and operate according to it's God forsaken ways.
5 Now while the bridegroom was delayed, they all began to nod off, and they fell asleep.
6 But at midnight there was a shout, ‘Look! The bridegroom [is coming]! Go out to meet him.’
Important revelation here ;
JESUS comes at midnight (Isaiah 60, deep darkness) for his bride, not before the deep darkness descends, no early rapture, as the false teachers, ear ticklers, have been feeding the gullible sheep who do not seek the Lord and learn from Him and His word alone.
7 Then all those virgins got up and put their own lamps in order [trimmed the wicks and added oil and lit them].
8 But the foolish virgins said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, because our lamps are going out.’
TAKE YOUR SALVATION SERIOUSLY!
Notice how the 5 foolish virgins want the real treasure they ignored from believers, not from the Giver of Oil, Jesus.
GIVE US your oil - sorry no can do !
While they played the harlot with the world, gladly chasing and paying $ for their idols now they want oil, but it's too late, the door is shut !
This is when those deceived by the pre-trib lie finally wake up.
9 But the wise replied, ‘No, otherwise there will not be enough for us and for you, too; go instead to the dealers and buy oil for yourselves.’
They can't buy what Jesus gives us for free, so the foolish go on a fools errand to buy what they will never find in the stores (they spent more time in than God's word, prayer or seeking Jesus alone) for the worldly Christian who live by and for this world of commerce, trade, economy instead of 100% sold out commitment to Jesus their primary go to source, supply, Lord.
10 But while they were going away to buy oil, (you can't buy this oil, they never found any from the merchants/false teachers, deceivers in the temple whom they followed) the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast; and the door was shut and locked.
11 Later the others also came, and said, ‘Lord, Lord, open [the door] for us.’
12 But He replied, ‘I assure you and most solemnly say to you$, I do not know you [we have no relationship].’
13 Therefore, be on the alert [be prepared and ready], for you do not know the day nor the hour [when the Son of Man will come].

πωλέω pōléō, po-leh'-o; probably ultimately from πέλομαι pélomai (to be busy, to trade); to barter (as a pedlar), i.e. to sell:—sell, whatever is sold.

The foolish virgins were too busy with other things $ and gave Jesus very little of their time.
Last but not least is that God uses the Mark of the Beast to cull down His flock, separating the sheep from the goat$.
It''s worth noting that Judah betrayed Jesus for $, and that so many world, political trusting, loving Christian's were so easily duped and jumped on board the Mammon King $ Trump Train to save their American idol.

Too many Christians are caught up, led away from Jesus and the Bible by Satan's clever conspiracy bait traps, his subtle diversion, deception snares.
“You are not to say, ‘It is a conspiracy!’ In regard to all that this people call a conspiracy, And you are not to fear what they fear or be in dread of it. “It is the Lord of hosts whom you should regard as holy. And He shall be your fear, And He shall be your dread.
