The last written counterproposal from Goodell, which was around the first of August, was seeking about $49.5 million per year, as well as the lifetime use of a private jet and lifetime health insurance for his family, according to a source familiar with the negotiations.

Iran-Iraq earthquake: death toll rises to 348
Iran’s state-run Irna news agency raised the death toll to 341 on Monday and said 5,953 people were injured after the quake that struck the country’s western provinces at 9.20pm local time on Sunday. Local officials said the tolls would rise as search and rescue teams reached remote areas.

I've been a sports fan all my life. For the last 30 years or so the only thing I would watch on tv is sports, but it's getting so bizarre and in-your-face idolatrous that I'm going to have to quit that, too. It kind of started with the Super Bowl as a test case to see what level of insanity the American public would tolerate, I guess. The marketers determined that the sky was the limit (or perhaps the opposite direction--the bottomless pit!). Like you, I just can't wrap my mind around the level of greed which is considered not only acceptable in America, but positively commendable. "What shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul?" "A man's life does not consist in the abundance of things that he possesses." "Those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into perdition and destruction."
Theory: The programming is only to supply eyeballs for the real message. This is a proven fact. For many years, the real message has been that of the advertisers. But the past couple of decades, more and more, the REAL message has been a world view, one diametrically opposed to the Biblical world view. Sports is the draw to get Joe Public to see and hear the propaganda, and it's been subtle. But less and less subtle as time goes on. The frog is being boiled alive, but hopefully some frogs will realize what's happening and hop out of the pot.
Hmm...$49.5 mil a year for a guy who when pressed, can't even make a coherent statement on the knee-taking. Maybe it's just hush money.

It is so tragic that so many will spend eternity in hell and be such experts at football, baseball, soccer, teams & stats and totally ignorant and uncaring of God and His eternal Word.
