This might interest you , an object lesson in Free Will.
I talked to an elderly Aunt in her early 80's, a bright woman who is perky and who gets around well.
She vehemently told me that her choice for President of the US was candidate XYZ because candidate ABC acted rude. [ i.e., uncouth and boorish, not polished nor smooth. ]
This bright woman is helping to choose the President of the US, based on media perceptions. She is vehemently promoting her choice according to her cultural standards of society.
She would not DREAM of missing Church and she conducts her life to reflect that.
At the same time, she would not DREAM of looking at the real issues, the real philosophies espoused by the candidates and their running mates. Nor would she dream of evaluating their characters nor their goals for this country that we live in.
She leaves that in the hands of the media, that is, the mainstream that is pouring out of the canned and bought journalism fed to the public.
Needless to say, I was SO ASTOUNDED at her lack of sensible logic which is quite unlike her . She will be casting her ballot based on a subjective, visual appeal of the candidates, based on her own social norms.
I suppose Kamala Harris' long hair and conservative dress will rate high in her evaluation of worthy presidential material, wouldn't you agree ?
After a gasp and a short remonstration from me, I became AWED at the lack of logic and thought promoted by this intelligent woman.
Finally, I pointed out, "We follow the Bible around here. We do not entangle ourselves with the affairs of this life. The Bible says to pray for our leaders, so we do that, so that we [ Christians ] may live peaceably in the land."
As might be expected, she did not know what to do with that.
