I THOUGHT I HAD ENOUGH OIL

As deep darkness covers this earth the more oil, light we are going to need.

Parable of Ten Virgins

“Then the kingdom of heaven will be comparable to ten virgins, who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.
Five of them were foolish, and five were prudent.

For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them,

but the prudent took oil in flasks along with their lamps.
Now while the bridegroom was delaying, they all got drowsy and began to sleep.
But at midnight there was a shout, ‘Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’  Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps.
The foolish said to the prudent, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’
But the prudent answered, ‘No, there will not be enough for us and you too; go instead to the dealers and buy some for yourselves.’
And while they were going away to make the purchase, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast; and the door was shut.
Later the other virgins also came, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open up for us.’ But he answered, ‘Truly I say to you, I do not know you.’
Be on the alert then, for you do not know the day nor the hour.

The other day when my carafe of olive oil ran low I went to refill it and realized I had no more oil.
I was quite surprised as I was sure there was more after years of keeping items like this overstocked,
especially now with more and more shortages and prices rising by the day.

This lack of oil got me thinking about the ten virgins, five wise and five foolish virgins of Matthew 25.

In these last days it's easy to be busy with so much going on, but if we fail to keep our priorities straight and our oil is running out we are not going to make it. Oil is a Holy Spirit infused life where Jesus is all in all of our life.

He saturates our life where the darkness has no way in.

Staying away from sin, garbage TV, movies, the wrong crowd, reading the Word of God daily, praying all the time and seeking JESUS in every thing you face will help keep your flask of oil full.

With so many catastrophic events about to come down upon us, if we are not very close to Jesus and filled with His power and strength, wisdom and anointing (oil) and far away from sin and darkness that grows daily around us, we are already in serious trouble, and much more trouble down the road.

This is more serious than many believers give attention to ;

and the door was shut

The world has a way of sapping your oil

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

If you keep driving your car when there is no more oil you end up with big trouble that could have easily been avoided.

Double check, triple check your spiritual oil level, and fill up, top off.

If you are giving more attention to junk, temporary and vain things than making sure your flask of oil is full you have no one to blame but yourself.

1 wasted life, all for a temporary escape high

Those who try and fill their spiritually empty souls with drugs to deaden the consequences of their sins and numb their consciences & to escape reality are on a wide dead end highway that leads off the cliff to destruction.

Only Jesus can fill that void and give your life, true, eternal and lasting meaning !

Drug Poisoning at Record Level, Killing More Than Homicide, Car Crashes

Drug poisoning deaths reached a record level in 2015, outpacing suicide, homicide, car crashes, and firearms deaths, according to a new report from the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Approximately 140 people died from drug poisoning every day in 2015 (the most recent year for which data are available) the report found, the highest recorded rate ever.

In two years, the town of Kermit in West Virginia received almost nine million opioid pills.
Just 400 people live in Kermit.

The US and New Zealand are the only countries that allow prescription drugs to be advertised on television.

African armyworms were bad enough, eating mainly maize and other cereals, but fall armyworms are worse as they have a voracious appetite for many other crops too, including beans and vegetables – and reproduce at a very fast rate. The moth can fly 100km in one night.

Israeli officials assess that in a future war, the terrorist group would be able to sustain a firing rate of over 1,000 missiles per day.
The former military leaders found that the UN Interim Force in Lebanon peacekeeping mission is not enforcing the aspects of Resolution 1701 that are meant to keep armed non-state actors like Hezbollah out of southern Lebanon.
The former generals and defense officials describe Hezbollah as being “widely considered to be the most powerful non-state armed actor in the world.”

  1. Marcel, AMEN to the article on "OIL".

This must be the priority of all Christians in the times we are in.

Nothing else even comes close. Lukewarm, nominal Christianity is NOT going to make it!

The call of a Disciple is very serious and necessary for our safety and well being.

"The Flesh profits NOTHING, it is the SPIRIT that gives Life, The WORDS that I+ speak unto you are SPIRIT and they are Life".

Thank you for reminding us of the necessity of keeping this a priority in our lives.

It looks like the oil will be in short supply (not enough) and I believe hard to find for the foolish virgins who did not get some oil when they could have done so easily. It's going to get harder and those who wait too late will not make it as you said.
I hope everyone will take this as seriously as Jesus warned us to.

Be on the alert then, for you do not know the day nor the hour.

  2. Hi Marcel,
If one has to think about having enough oil in their lamps, without prayer, fasting and supplication, then they've not learned what it takes to enter in. But allow me say that the devil will ALWAYS speak, "you don't have enough" sending one into and oblivious state of condemnation where one whines they cannot speak to the public on out on the streets about salvation! What a lie-- there WiTHIN is the lack of oil! There is NO condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus--NONE! So let's set aside the lies of Satan and venture out to the depths of evil in saving a few. Hopefully, we all know what that entails. (maybe some spitting on or ridiculing, or harassment; not much in USA; right now anyway). I refuse to believe "I haven't enough oil" that our labor in vain in the Lord! If one loves WHAT Jesus has done in their lives, they cannot help but testify of what He has done to reveal healing and regeneration power. If not, then therein is the loss of that oil. Can't tell christians to get enough oil if they do not know where and how it is given to them. "Yes must be Born Again" otherwise, one can forgot about it... will never happen.
Thank you Marcel for being eager and caring enough to warn others of the serious demise backsliding. We all need to get more real and less efficacious about the truth. (Of course, this is just my 2 cents.) Thank you for letting me post. Been reading the Roman Catholic Sessions of the Council of Trent v Protestant Biblical truths and how easy it is to fall into the lies of the hell hounds and how they work into the lives of those that say they "believe." No words how evil the contrast is.

  3. I really meant to include this what Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. John 3:3

  4. This oil shortage message is for those naive Christians who assume they can serve two master, this world and the Kingdom of God.
It is for those who continue to practice sin (walk in the darkness and claim to be of the Light)

Eventually after the many, many trials we endure as part of our walk and growth in the Lord, we believers learn to rely on Jesus and not ourselves, then we get to know the voice of the Lord (without condemnation) and the voice of our accuser.
    It's all about faith.
Unbelief (not believing Jesus' words) our only hope, will damn us to hell.

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Matthew 7:21-23 King James Version (KJV)

Matthew 25 Jesus speaks the same message to the 5 foolish virgins (who assumed wrongly, believing the lie of the lukewarm church and Satan that they were safe, born again, and living in sin)

The foolish said to the prudent, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’

......Later the other virgins also came, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open up for us.’ But he answered, ‘Truly I say to you, I do not know you.’
Be on the alert then, for you do not know the day nor the hour.

    Joanne,

Thank you so much for your most excellent comment, I appreciate your input very much.

I just don't have the stomach to read junk from apostate, dead religion, Rome.
