Prosperity Gospel in Nigeria ?

And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

2 Peter 2:2

Then He said to them, “Watch out and guard yourselves against every form of greed; for not even when one has an overflowing abundance does his life consist of nor is it derived from his possessions.”

Luke 12:15

Has America's false prosperity gospel poisoned Nigeria's Christianity ?

Has the false American birthed prosperity gospel replaced the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Nigeria?

A false American gospel based on greed and covetousness

At the convention, the last stragglers hurry past the hawkers selling Hallelujah handkerchiefs and a billboard advertising Hallelujah cooking gas, to be there when the headliner comes on.

Outside, a young woman in elaborate sunglasses and a polo shirt with “MILLIONAIRE” emblazoned on the chest has persuaded Tayo Adunmo to open an account. The bank employee is normally based in Lagos, but has been at Redemption Camp for Holy Ghost week, and says she has signed up 500 people already.

  1. This is a sad commentary on America. What fools in this nation. It brings to mind Luke 12:15-21 (Jesus speaking)

    15. And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

16.And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:

    17. And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?

    18. And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.

    19. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.

    20. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

    21. So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

  2. Hi Linda,
Thanks for sharing that important verse. pretty sure they don't preach or teach that at Canaanland, Nigeria.
    The Canaanites were merchants.

notice they didn't use the correct name Israel, Beulahland

    Zechariah 14:21
And there will no longer be a [j]Canaanite in the house of the Lord of hosts in that day.

We Americans really do not have anything to be proud of before God. American Christians & church have much to sorrow and repent about.

    1. I read recently that pornography is America's number one export. What a horrifying statistic! This may be in second place.

God told Jeremiah (11:14) Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up a cry or prayer for them: for I will not hear them in the time that they cry unto me for their trouble.

America may very well be in that position now - which is a fearful thing! Prayers for individual children of God, He hears, but if we are under judgment, (which I believe we are) I fear He will not hear nor answer prayers for nations.

America - and all the nations - need to REPENT!

    2. I heard there is a major epidemic of Christian pastors snared by pornography.
The church is too busy loving the world, politics and pornography to maintain any salt.

That's why the pastors who gathered at the White House to pray for the president did not preach about sin and repentance. Rodney Howard-Browne talked about 'REVIVAL' COMING.
This is the message of the false prophets and preachers with their prosperity message.
Sin, repentance is not popular to preach about and does not fill the pews like $.
      Joel Osteen learned this early.

I'm with you on praying for individuals.

America's cup of wickedness is full, even a blind person can see this.
